Two days in Stockholm

During our holiday we also had the chance to go visit Stockholm in Sweden. We spent two amazing days in this beautiful city, which is a bit bigger than Helsinki. We didn't want to plan anything too specific so we just spent the days as they passed by. There is a lot of nice streets and nice parks so we did not get bored, only very tired.. I think we walked more than 10km each day, just strolling around. We only spent one night there in quite a bad hostel which kind of got our mood down for a while.. Next time we will know better and now we are one experience richer. I always think you can't have too much of the good stuff or too much of the bad, so, to balance with the crappy hostel we found an amazing tapas restaurant in Södermalm where we spent the evening drinking good wine and eating a lot of good food. We also had time to do some shopping, believe it or not but you can't find all shops in Bogotá even though it's become a very international city. For example, when I want to but something as simple as a white t-shirt I can't say how much I miss H&M here.. Oh well, in Stockholm you could find them in every corner!

Vamos a Finlandia vol.1

It's been a while since my last post and the reason is I was in Finland on holiday. I can't say how happy I was to be back, it's been almost a year since I was back home. "Home" - it's funny how you all of a sudden have two homes. I went back home to Finland, but I am home right now as well, in Bogotá. Anyways, we went together with Mateo and we were so busy all the time I feel like we would have needed a week more just to be able to breath a bit before starting the daily routines. We tried to see all my friends, all my family and visit as many places as possible but with only three weeks it's impossible. Next time I know I won't be the one running around, I will stay at one place and I can invite people to come visit me :)

The first week we started off by staying with my sister and her boyfriend in their new house in Borgå, which is located 50 km outside Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Borgå is one of the oldest cities in Finland, and there you can find a lot of history. The old part of the city is amazing to walk around, a lot of small shops and beautiful pastel coloured houses. We also stayed a few days in Helsinki before heading off to Åland, which is a big island located between Finland and Sweden. We went to Åland with a group of friends, it's become a tradition. Every year there is a music festival, Rockoff, which attracts a lot of people and for us it's a must-do in the summer. Åland is known to be the perfect place to go in the summer, it's green and calm and surrounded by ocean and fresh air.

We decided to do a day trip with our bikes. Our destination was "Stallhagens bryggeri" - where they brew their local beer. What we didn't know was we would bike more than 40 km in 33 degrees...
